H1N1 Flu Update

H1N1 and seasonal flu vaccines are available for all employees Thursday, November 19, at the Flu Stop clinic in 2093 Delp. The clinic is open from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 to 4:30 p.m.

Be sure to bring your ID badge to the clinic.

There are steps you can take to protect yourself from seasonal and H1N1 flu. They include:

  • Get vaccinated for seasonal flu
  • Get vaccinated for H1N1 flu once the vaccine is available
  • Cover coughs and sneezes - use tissue, or cough into your elbow (Dracula maneuver)
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water or alcohol hand sanitizer
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth
  • Avoid contact with large groups of people
  • Stay home if you have symptoms of an influenza-type illness until at least 24 hours after your fever is gone (without using fever-reducing medications). In addition, you should not have aching, chills, sore throat, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea.
  • Practice other good health habits (i.e., get enough sleep, eat well, drink lots of fluids)
